I redrew bits and pieces of flowers and grasses from antique botanical prints and fashioned this new floral.
I plan to create 5 patterns to go with it for a lovely new collection.

Engineered Pattern on a Long Sleeved T-Shirt
My first attempt at this was not all I hoped it would be, but did prove the concept: I create all the pieces for a t-shirt in Illustrator, add patterns to them, have it digitally printed at Spoonflower, and then cut and sew the garment.
I didn't consult my paper color chips, so didn't realize that the coral color in my shirt would be blaze orange, and I added too many elements. I'm excited about the process, though.
Digital printing, my skills at creating patterns, plus my knowledge of sewing opens up myriad possibilities.

I Did it Again - Scandinavian Part 2
After my morning run, shower, and fruit smoothie, I sit down at my computer and start my work day.
If I don't have a specific job, I hunt through my many inspiration images to help me decide what to design next.
Well, darn it, if today I wasn't inspired by Scandinavian design again. And this after I vowed to create something sell-able.
Oh, if only Scandinavian would become the next big trend!

Scandinavian Influences
My grandmother was Swedish, and I've got other Nordic blood in me, too. Maybe that explains my affinity for Scandinavian designs.
I seek them out and find comfort in their clean lines and familiar floral, leaf and flourish shapes.
I gathered 6 from my Scandinavian folder of designs, colored them in Spring 2015 color palette, and made this collection.

Pheasants Design - For Life
It's too late for me to be married to someone for 50 years unless I get married tomorrow and live a really long time. But it's not too late to meet someone and be with them until the end of my life.
Either way, it's cool.
These birds will always be together, though. And now I've surrounded them with 5 coordinates and mapped it all in a 2D room.

18th Century French Fabric - Pheasants, Fences, Flowers and Flourishes
This was a labor of love.
I've got a great (and secret ) source for images of antique fabrics. It has become an obsession, at times, to reproduce these patterns and turn them into repeats.
This one I ADORE! It took me over a period of a week to complete (not working on it full time, of course) and if I had to be doing something else, I couldn't wait to get back to it.
In time, I'll do another colorway, and create coordinates to go with it. For now, it is my smartphone wallpaper.
