Another Digital Quilt Block

After recoloring my recent quilt fabric collection, I applied it to a different digital quilt block than yesterday's.

It makes me happy!

Quilt Fabric Collections

I'm working on quilt fabric collections this week. It's fun, but not as easy as it might look.

I find it very helpful to apply the patterns to quilt blocks to check the balance of scale. I also check for  a balance of lights, mediums and darks, which turns out to be a hardest part for me.

This group is really pretty though. I'd put a quilt on my bed made of these designs!

Product Sighing

I made another product sighting today at Target. This is a pattern I sold to Kleenex awhile back.

Reinterperting Vintage Images

There's nothing as satisfying for me than taking a vintage image and reinterpreting it.

Most often the design ends up in repeat that can then be applied as surface art to fabric for quilts or apparel. Sometimes, though, it's just a great image that I'll save until I find a use for it.

This girl on the bike was from a children's learn-to-draw tracing book. I kept the drawing as loose as the original, and adding color and some pattern made her new again!
